Female Half-Elf Ranger, The First Ward of Merilrond
Megilindir was Dîmeril's first ward. Some twenty years ago, when she was not quite ten, her Elven mother asked Dîmeril to care for her for a few days. Days became weeks, weeks became months, and within the year it was clear that Megilindir would remain at Rose Hall. Whatever the circumstances behind her mother's absence, Dîmeril raised Megilindir as her own daughter, and it was through caring for her that the tradition of taking in unwanted or abandoned half-Elven children began.
Now around thirty, Megilindir is tall and athletic, with blonde hair and the browneyes inherited from her human father. Though there is no blood relationship between them, people often remark that she was cast in the same forge as Dîmeril. She possesses much of her adopted mother's kindness, confidence and instinct to protect others, but beneath it lies the same determined and potentially brutal core. Megilindir is, however, rather less forgiving. She believes Dîmeril gives second chances to people who have done little to deserve them and is particularly irritated by those who take advantage of her mother's generosity. In Megilindir's opinion, Dîmeril is far too soft on everyone except herself.
An accomplished ranger, Megilindir wears enchanted chain and is equally at home with sword, bow or in the saddle. She eventually left Merilrond to adventure in her own right and established a reputation independent of her famous adopted mother. By chance she was visiting Rose Hall when the Anwyn Woods were magically transported to Warlderia. Since then she has remained in the Golden Woods, abandoning her immediate plans to support Dîmeril and the displaced community. Cool and capable in a crisis, she has naturally become one of the Heryn's most trusted lieutenants and an elder sister to the younger wards. Behind that composed exterior is an intense devotion to the woman who raised her. Dîmeril is her mother, whatever qualifications anyone might place before the word, and there is very little Megilindir would not do for her.
